About St Clair Motor Co
St Clair Motor Company is the longest established garage in Kirkcaldy. It was taken over in 1963 by the Robertson family who currently still run the garage. We were a Hillman agency back then amongst others.In 1964 we became main dealers for Saab and DAF, although DAF was lost when Volvo bought them over. We also took on Triumph in 1965 but again lost them as they were bought over by British Leyland.
We were also main dealers for BMW and Mercedes from 1966 for a short time.
All this time we continued with Saab until 1997 when General Motors policies forced us (the little guys) out. It showed how much customer service meant to them as we were 1st in Europe for many years.
We built and raced Lotus Élans and a Hillman Imp in the late sixties with a fair amount of victories. Also we rallied Saabs, two strokes and V4's from 1965 to 1976 with entries in the Scottish championships, Circuit of Ireland, RAC rally and KAK(Swedish) rally.
Now run by son Iain Robertson, we now just deal with quality used cars, including Saabs, hand picked by ourselves. Customer service is still second to none.
All our cars are meticulously prepared and valeted, with service and MOT.
MOT`s on our vehicles are carried out by an independent MOT station.
